My plan is to make kangaroo pocket invites, kind of like this:
I am currently awaiting a sample of the cardstock to come in, so I can see what the colors and weights are like. I plan to use dark brown, and either 80# or 100# weight....
Update: First Mock-Up
My sample cardstock came in, so I was able to make a mock-up of the invites!
This is just my first try. I have been playing around more with fonts and images, so I may change the font to something a little fancier, and will probably change the birds. Check back!

The brown cardstock I used for the kangaroo pocket is 100# from paperandmore.com. 50 11x17" sheets of it is $20, and each sheet makes 3 invites, so $20 for 150 invites (I will not need 150, so the rest will be used for programs)! The ivory cardstock used for the invitation and inserts is 67# from Staples. I already had this, so I am not sure on the price. Each invitation takes 1.5 pieces of it (it's 8.5x11").
I used this tutorial for the kangaroo pockets.
I designed the invitations using Microsoft Word. The graphics came from Google image searches, and I had to edit them in Paint to make them the correct color before I copied and pasted them into the word document. The words on the response card are the first few lines of Led Zeppelin's "Thank You," which will be our first dance song (in case it's hard to read: "If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you. When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me").

FINAL PRODUCT:
I decided to make the font a little fancier, changed the type of birds that were on it, and added flowers to the pocket. Here is the final product that our guests received:
